Q: What is the best time of day to schedule a boat tour with Clear Lake Boat Ride, especially considering the weather conditions?A: To ensure the most pleasant and smooth experience on Clear Lake, we highly recommend scheduling your boat tour between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm. During these hours, the lake is typically calm, making for a more enjoyable sightseeing, swimming, or lounging experience. In July and August, afternoons temperatures frequently reach between 90 to 100 degrees, and a breeze can cause choppier waters, especially in the narrows. Although we make every effort to minimize the impacts of wave action, it can be rough during these later hours. Therefore, for the calmest and most comfortable ride, morning and early afternoon tours are your best option.
-
Q: Where can we go to eat or have a drink?A: When you book a tour with Clear Lake Boat Rides, you are in for a memorable adventure on Clear Lake. One notable stop is the Konocti Resort and Spa. This destination is especially nostalgic for those who visited during its heyday and can offer a trip down memory lane with its full array of amenities. Do keep in mind that weekends and holidays tend to be busy, which might result in longer waits for your food at lakefront establishments. Therefore, it’s wise to plan accordingly when booking your tour. Generally, we find that a 2-hour tour timeframe is sufficient to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Other establishments lakefront include Richmond Park Bar & Grill and Lakeport establishments off the 5th street boat ramp.

Q: What are the safety requirements for children on Clear Lake Boat Ride?A: All children under 13 years of age must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times when on a moving vessel. To ensure we have the appropriate life jackets, please provide the age and size of each child in the notes field of your booking. We will bring several life jackets to ensure a proper fit. While adults are not required to wear life jackets, one will be provided for you to wear or place under your seat for safety.
